What type of women travel with Sistah Sojourn Travel Club?

On every trip we have women who are married, divorced, widowed and single. Statistically on any given tour, you will find the following composition:

95% - College Graduates
25% - Graduate and/or Professional Degrees
35% - Business Owners
85% - Mid-career Professionals
98% - Have Children
55% - Married
10% - Divorced
35% - Never Married
90% - Earn $50,000 or more
10% - Earn $100,00 or more

Do Some of the Women come Alone?
Yes. Many of the women who travel with Sistah Sojourn Travel Club are traveling alone. That's what's so great about an all-women's group. You can come by yourself, but not be alone. PLUS, we put travelers together to share a room if you would like. Not only does this cut down on cost, but it's more fun to have someone to share a rooms with. (You can have a single room if you choose to pay the additional cost).

What is the average age of the women who travel with you?
In general, the age of travelers range from the mid-30’s
to the late 50’s.

Do you offer other types of trips besides women's only trips?

Yes! We realize the importance of family, so we also offer family trips as well as co-ed trips to bring along brothers, husbands, and male friends. However, you must be a woman to be a member of our exclusive club, and any males going along with our group must be personally brought along by a club member.

What is your policy on smoking?
Our hotel rooms, transportation and all meals are non-smoking.

Do you get a lot of repeat travelers?
Yes! When women see how much fun it is to travel with other women in a relaxed group setting, with plenty of activities, but still have their independence, they love it and come back again and again!

Group Size

What is the typical group size?
Our typical group size is 10 to 20 travelers.

Is the group together all the time or is there time to explore on my own?
  We design our trips to include a balance of structured time–planned activities included in the cost of the tour–with time to explore on your own or with the other women. The group leader always has recommendations or suggestions on things to do to spend your free time.

What’s Included

What is included in the cost of the trip?
  Your  price  generally includes (per itinerary):

• "Meet & Greet" upon arrival by the group leader

• Airport transfers and transportation

• Services of the  group leader and local guides

• Some breakfasts

• Admission to some activities, parks, museums, etc.
(as noted on itinerary)

• Lodging in centrally located hotels based on two persons
sharing a room with bath.

• Guaranteed roomshare (most women who travel
alone request a roommate, however, you can pay the
additional charge and room alone).

Types of Trips

Do you repeat the same trips every year?
No. In fact, every year is a new mix of trips. We believe that there is so much to see in the world, it would be a disservice to our travelers to offer the same thing year in and year out. Typically we repeat the more popular tours every 2 years, and the more popular long weekend destinations every 18 months.

How physically fit do I have to be?
In some instances, there is a fair amount of walking. But, each trip is different. If you have medical conditions that doesn’t permit walking, it is recommended that you consult with you doctor.

Trip Deposit

How much of a deposit do I have to pay?
Is it refundable?
We require a  nonrefundable $150 deposit on any U.S. destination, and a $300 nonrefundable deposit on any destination outside the U.S. (i.e. Canada, Europe, Carribean etc.). All other monies paid are refundable, depending on how close to departure you cancel. Please see  our travel policies section  for further details.

Accommodations
What type of hotels do you stay in?
  We choose hotels as close to the center of town and activities as possible, balancing that with room rates. Our choices are always clean, well maintained, and generally offer a continental breakfast. In the U.S., we typically choose well know, brand name hotels mixed with privately owned hotels, and resorts.  Outside the U.S., we stay in hotels that reflect the charm and culture of the country. All hotel rooms, whether in the U.S. or abroad, will have a private bath with toilet. We will put a maximum of two women to a room–each with her own bed.

Roommates

Does everyone get a roommate that asks for one?
We will make our best effort to accommodate everyone who requests a roommate. There may be times, however that you may be required to pay a single supplement if there is an odd number of single travelers.

How do you match roommates?
Matching roommates is done taking into account the age of the travelers, their interests, what part of the country they are from, along with other information gleaned from conversations or emails.

Will I know who my roommate is before the trip?
Yes. Your  roommate assignment will be  included in the information  that is sent out about one week before departure.  We encourage roommates to contact each other before the trip.

I haven’t shared a room in a long time. Should I get a single room?
Most women ask to share a room, even if they have not shared a room in a long time. It’s a great opportunity to make a new friend !
